OBITUARY
Former Resident Dies
Mrs. Eva. R. Thompson, age 81, a former settler of this community, passed
away Tuesday of last week at a Dallas hospital after six weeks of illness.
Services were held at the First Christian Church in Carrollton at 2 p.m.
Thursday. The Rev. James Nelson, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gola Bailey
of Farmers Branch. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry
Allen Baxley, Ernest Russell, Earl Skiles, Floyd May, Son Stanley, and Roy
Raspberry.
Mrs. Thompson lived in this community for 25 years and at the time of her
death, her home was at Frisco, Texas.
Survivors are six sons; Elbert of Fort Worth; Carl of Frisco; Claude of
Fort Worth; Frankie, Avondale, Ariz.; Ray, Farmers Branch; and Elmer (Chic) of
Carrollton; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson is also
survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Wren, Chicago, Mrs. Sudie Copeland, Mt.
Pleasant, Mrs. Bates Mitchel of Harlingen; three brothers, M. A. Lewis,
Henderson, Purdie Lewis of Kansas and Clarence Lewis of Texarkana, Texas.
