THOMAS VINSON TIPPS TIPPS, THOMAS VINSON , A Loving Husband, Dad, Granddad and Great Granddad, Vinson brightened this world with his spirit of love, honesty, friendship and sense of humor. He passed peacefully on Sunday evening October 23, 2005. Born in Aubrey, Texas June 8, 1920 to Thomas Hubert Tipps and Eula Harbert, he graduated from Denton High School in 1938. He married Doris Wilson of Denton, Texas in 1941 (together still after 64 years) and then graduated from North Texas State University in 1942. At the onset of WWII, Vinson joined the U.S. Coast Guard, graduating from U.S. Navy flight school in Pensacola, Florida, receiving his wings in 1944. He was then stationed in Port Angeles, WA where he flew coastal patrol in his PBY5A Seaplane throughout the Pacific Northwest until the end of the War. He is survived by his wife, Doris Tipps, two daughters, Glenda Jordan and husband Joel (San Francisco), Sally Fink and husband Larry (Seattle), and two sons, Thomas R. Tipps and wife Anita (Tampa) and Steven V. Tipps (Dallas) and his sister Sara Beth Brister (Mesquite) and niece Sherry Kern (Irving). Grandchildren include Sean Tipps and wife Emily; Daniel and Sarah Fink; Travis, Austin and Carrie Tipps; and Candice Stephens and husband Jared. Great-grandchildren: Jesse Chum, Colton and Emma Stephens, and Caiden Avery Tipps. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton and at funeral services on Thursday October 27, 2005 at 1:00 PM in the Christ United Methodist Church, 2807 Valwood Parkway in Carrollton, Texas. Burial will follow at Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Senior Adult Services, 1111 W.
