OBITUARY

John Samuel Tracy, 89, passed away October 5. Born in Allen County, Kentucky, June 14, 1876; married Nannie Blankenship, who died May 13, 1957, on October 29, 1899. They came to Texas in 1900 and lived in Dallas County - on the same farm since 1911, which is now in the Farmers Branch city limits. He served on the Farmers Branch school board for some 20 years and was a retired deacon of First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. Of the four boys and three girls, born to them, two daughters, Mrs. Edna Hartline and Mrs. Mattie Lewis of Farmers Branch survive. Other survivors include sister, Mrs. Sarah Blankenship, all of Farmers Branch; 21 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, in the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch with Rev. Glenn Hayden officiating. Interment was in Farmers Branch Cemetery with Rhoton, Weiland-Merritt Funeral Home in charge.
