OBITUARY
EMMETT E. WARNER, OF PIONEER FAMILY, DIES IN DALLAS
Emmett Emery Warner, 57, a brother of Mrs. Emma Hardcastle and Mrs. W. W.
Perry and a former resident of Carrollton, died Saturday at a Dallas hospital
and was buried Tuesday afternoon at 4, Rev. W. E. Anderson of the Weaver-Holtz
Funeral chapel on McKinney officiating.
His home was at 627 Hartsdale, where his wife, Mrs. Beulah Warner, now resides.
Mr. Warner had loved in Carrollton before moving to Dallas and later moved back
out here for a time. He once operated the ice house here and a meat market.
He was born near here, the son of John and Mary Warner, pioneer settlers, having
come here in 1852 from new Cork, Ireland. Mr. John Warner was justice of the
peace here a number of years before his death in 1909.
Mr. Warner served on the fire and police departments of Dallas for thirty nine
years and was also superintendent of the maintenance department before his
resignation about two years ago on account of his health. His health had become
even worse within the past several months.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beulah Warner; two sons, Steve Herring and john
Herring; a brother, George F. Warner, Wylie; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Perry and
Mrs. Emma Hardscatle, both of Carrollton.
Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery Irving.
