OBITUARY BURNS
DANA STANLEY was born on July 24, 1943 and passed away on November
13, 2000. Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Carrollton High School class
of '61. She is survived by her daughter, Rosanne Work,
son-in-law, Keith Work, Grandson Dylan Work, sister,
Betty Lou
Dennis and Linda Donnell Stanley and lifelong, devoted friend, Eric
Burleson. In addition, Ms. Burns will be missed by many other loving
nieces, nephews, family members and numerous good friends.
Visitation will be held at Rhoton funeral home on Wednesday, Nov.
15, 2000 from 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held at the Rhoton funeral
home chapel on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000 at 2:00 pm. Interment
will follow at Keenan cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made in Dana Burns name to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. Submitted by

OBITUARY
Dana Burns
Dana Burns 57, a descendent of a pioneer family of Farmers Branch who were
members of the Peters Colony, died on Monday Nov. 13, 2000, in Irving.
Dana Sue Stanley was born July 24, 1943, at the old St Paul Hospital on Bryan
Street in Dallas, the second daughter of Albert L. &
Goldie Belle Johnson
Stanley, & was a lifelong resident of Dallas County. She was a member of the
1961 graduating class of Carrollton High School & was helping to plan a 40th
anniversary celebration for her class. She was also a member of the Northside
Baptist Church in Carrollton. In her early career she was employed at Texas
Instruments & for the past 14 years she had been associated with Horchow &
Neiman Marcus at Las Colinas.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosanne Work; grandson, Dylan Work; sisters
Betty Lou Dennis & Linda Donnell Stanley; stepchildren, Michael & Diane Burns;
aunts Willie “Bill” Daniel & Frances Needham; & Numerous nieces & nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents & her husband, William Ivan Burns.
Services were Nov 16 at Rhoton Funeral Home with Rev Mark Dallalio officiating.
Burial was in the Stanley family plot at
Farmers Branch Keenan Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Adamo, Dorn Brinkman, Michael Burns, Danny Daniel, Harold
Dennis, Carl Shields, Justin Shields, Chris Willard, & Kevin Willard. The family
suggests that remembrances be directed to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital,
Operation Kindness or a trust fund that has been established for her grandson,
Dylan Work.
