OBITUARY

Sam W. Davis Dies At Farmers Branch

Funeral services for Sam W. (Rockwall) Davis, 48, prominent citizen of Farmers Branch who died Sunday morning will be held at his home at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow in the Farmers Branch Cemetery.
Mr. Davis has been a resident of Farmers Branch for the last ten years during which time he has been active in business and civic affairs as an outstanding leader. He was born and raised in Rockwall, Dallas County, and is widely known over North Texas as a trader in land and live stock.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Davis; mother, Mrs. P. C. Davis of Rockwall; grandmother, Mrs. Betty Davis, 90, of Rockwall; five children Paul, Sam, Brady, Calvin and Betty Jean all of Farmers Branch. Also surviving are a brother, Ben Davis, Wilmer; five sisters, Mrs. Harry Casey, Mrs. Annie Holt, Mrs. Fannie Lewis and Miss Clyde Davis, all of Rockwall, and Mrs. Wade Phaup of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be W. D. Austin and John Crawford of Rockwall; Tom W. Field, Mack Petillo and R. T. Atkins of Farmers Branch; Tom Tompkins, Zed Costin, Joel Y. Field of Dallas.

OBITUARY

Sam David Died At Farmers Branch

Sam William Davis died at his home in Farmers Branch Sunday, Feb 12, 1933. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church there at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and interment made in the Farmers Branch Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born Feb 13, 1883, and was 50 years of age at the time of death.  He had been a resident of the Farmers Branch community for the past ten years and was a leader and prominent in the affairs of the community.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Davis; mother, Mrs. P. C. Davis of Rockwall; grandmother, Mrs. Betty Davis, 90 of Rockwall; five children, Paul, Sam, Brady, Calvin and Betty Jean, all of Farmers Branch. Also surviving are a brother, Ben Davis, Wilmer; five sisters, Mrs. Harry Casey, Mrs. Annie Holt, Mrs. Fannie Lewis and Miss Clyde Davis, all of Rockwall, and Mrs. Wade Phaup of Tyler.
