Ray M  Hartline, Sr.

Obituary for Ray M Hartline, Sr.
Ray M. Hartline, Sr. age 81 of Joplin, Mo. went to be with his Lord & Savior on April 3, 2013. He was at home, surrounded by his family.
Ray was born on October 20, 1931 in Dallas County, Tx., the son of Leonard and Edna (Tracy) Hartline. Ray surrendered himself to the ministry at the age of 17, he graduated from Decatur Baptist College (Dallas Baptist College) as High Honor Man, the University of Corpus Christi in 1954, cum laude, the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Tx. in 1964, with a Master of Divinity. He attended Ozark Bible College, Joplin, Mo to learn Greek. He also attended Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Mo. He moved to Joplin in 1969 from Breckenridge, Tx., Ray was the pastor of Harmony Heights Baptist Church until he founded College View Baptist Church in 1975, serving as pastor until 1995. He ministered at other churches around the area until 2005, then returned as pastor of College View Baptist Church in 2009.
He married Sandra Quigley on October 21, 1991 in Springfield, Mo., she survives. Additional survivors include two sons; Ray Hartline, Jr. and his wife Ann of Plano, Tx., Rick Hartline and his wife Brenda of Garland, Tx., two daughters; Gail Montez of Joplin, Denise England and her husband John of Joplin, three brothers; Bruce Hartline and his wife Terri of Plano, Tracy Hartline and his wife Georgia of Chandler, Tx., Harold Hartline and his wife Betty of Houston, Tx., ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clyde and Melvin Hartline and his twin sister, Melley Smith.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday April 9, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Webb City, Mo., Reverend T.O. Spicer, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday April 8, 2013 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
