OCTOBER 11, 1946 - APRIL 14, 2018

Sharon Lee Evitts Lemming, age 71, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Dallas, Texas after a lengthy illness. She was born in Big Spring, Texas on October 11, 1946 to Howard Lee and Bonnie Ann Crews Evitts. They precede her in death. Sharon grew up in Carrollton, Texas and attended R.L. Turner High School, graduating in 1965. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in June 1969. After college, she started her career at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas as a staff nurse, moving to the Dallas County Health Department in 1970, where she was eventually promoted to Public Health Nursing Supervisor. In 1980, she moved to Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District serving for over 25 years as an elementary school nurse at schools such as McKamy Elementary in Carrollton and Montgomery Elementary in Farmers Branch, until her retirement in 2005. After retirement, she moved to Saginaw, Texas to be closer to her son and his family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saginaw and loved volunteering at Community Link Food Bank. She was truly a "Crazy Cat Lady" and, as such, leaves behind her beloved cat, Pumpkin, who will miss her greatly.

Sharon is survived by her son, Steve Lemming and wife Sheri, granddaughter Madison Lemming and grandson Ryan Lemming, all of Saginaw; brother Michael Evitts and wife Judy of Bellingham, Washington; brother David Evitts and wife Laura of Carrollton; and sister Laura Evitts Griggs and husband Jeff of Sulphur Springs, Texas, along with three nieces, two nephews and two great nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery in Carrollton, where she will rest alongside both of her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor her memory by donating to a food bank or animal shelter in your area. She would love to know she will be helping people and animals one more time.
