OBITUARY Mrs. Marsh Dies
After Long Illness Mrs. Lillian R. Marsh, 80, a former long-time
resident of Dallas where she was active in political and civic affairs, died
Sunday at her home in Houston after a long illness. Born in Avoyelles
Parish, La., Mrs. Marsh came to Dallas in 1919 and moved from here to Houston in
1952.
She was a member of the Dallas Board of Health and Dallas Welfare Board.
She was the Dallas County head of of Price Daniel's first campaign for Attorney
General.
Mrs. Marsh was a life member Gold Star Mother. She was the past sweetheart of
the Young Democrats of Texas, a member of the Scared Heart Cathedral and the
Order of St. Frances.
Her husband, W. A. Marsh, died in 1944.
Survivors are a son, John David Marsh of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Atkinson
of Biloxi, Miss., and three grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday in Crane Funeral Chapel, 6524 East
Northwest highway. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the
Sacred Heart Cathedral, 2215 Ross, with Msgr. William F. O'Biren as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Marsh Cemetery near Farmers Branch.
Pallbearers will be Maurice Rush, Houston Edward O'Keefe, Mack Byrd, Dan Foley,
Tommy Marsh and Fred Marsh.
