Injured by Gasoline Explosion
J. W. McCoy, who has been working out near Archer City, was injured in a
gasoline explosion while at work there on the 16th of the month. He was carried
to a hospital in Wichita Falls and given treatment and last Saturday was brot to
the home of his parents, W. W. McCoy, north of town. Sunday he was taken to
Parkland hospital in Dallas where he is under treatment.
J. W. was operating a gasoline engine pumping water and while filling the tank
with gasoline it exploded and covered him with burning gasoline. He jumped into
a pool of water and thus saved himself to some extent, but he was badly burned
about the body and arms. The burns will take considerable time to heal but are
doing as well as could be expected under the circumstances.
