WEDDING
ANNIVERSARY Thompson
Mr. and Mrs. Claud A. Thompson recently celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary.
The Couple were married April 8, 1951.
Mr. Thompson is retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Edwina Whitlock
Thompson is retired from the busienss office of Carrollton-Farmers Branch
Independent School District.
They have three children and eight grandchildren.

Obituary of Edwina Ruth Thompson
Edwina Whitlock Thompson went to be with her Lord and Savior on February
29, 2020, surrounded by her dear family and was reunited with her
beloved husband of 64 years, C.A. (Tiny) Thompson in Heaven. She was
born on November 8, 1926, in Carrollton, Texas to
Juanita Brake Whitlock and
Homer Thomas Whitlock. She is
survived by their three children Tim Thompson (Rhonda), Kathy Argo, and
Melissa Gill and Eight Grandchildren: Katy Gruner (Bobby), Tiffany
Vineyard (John), Kristin McElmurry (Jonathan) , Chelsea Salazar(
Robert), John Gill,(Stacy) Kendel Davis ( Will), Rhett Gill ( Caitlin )
and Karoline Riech ( Kevin). She is also blessed with 11 Great
grandchildren: Gage and Roman Gruner, Baylea and Rylea Vineyard, Edison
and Calvin McElmurry, Ava and Emma Salazar, Mason and Charlotte Gill,
Claire Davis, and three more on the way. She is also survived by her
sister Elise Whitlock Blair and 3 nieces. Edwina graduated from
Carrollton High in 1944 and married Tiny
Thompson in 1951. From 1958-1991 she worked for the Carrollton
Farmers Branch school district, including a few years as the district’s
first secretary at Valwood Elementary, and stayed in touch with the
students for years to come.
She was an intentional lover of the Lord, Family, Friend and even
strangers. She lived life to the fullest and her daily joys including a
morning cup of coffee and crossword puzzle, texts and Facebook posts
with dear friends and family, fellowship and outings with her cherished
community from First Baptist Carrollton, and visits with her
grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Nana,
you are our sunshine, and you will always be missed
Visitation will be at First Baptist at the Fields 1401 Carrollton
Parkway, Carrollton, Texas for 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. , followed by
services at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Dr. Brent Taylor at First Baptist at
the Fields.
