OBITUARY

WHITLOCK
JUANITA B., 94, a descendant of a pioneer Carrollton Family died Friday, March 11, 2000 in Carrollton after a lengthy illness. She was born April 23, 1906 in Farmers Branch, Texas; Dallas County to E. W. Brake and Ada Nix Brake. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters; W. W. Brake, Vernie E. Brake, E. Nix Brake, Estille F. Warner, Mary Lois Jones, and Colene Allen. Juanita B. Whitlock was a 1924 graduate of Carrollton High School. Her business career spanned a period of 25 years serving as Head of U.S. Federal Selective Service Board from 1941 thru 1966. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church n Carrollton, teaching a young adult women's Sunday School class for 20 years. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star No. 687, Farmers Branch Women's Club, and she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include: two daughters, Edwina W. Thompson and husband, Tiny Thompson of Carrollton, Elise W. Blair and husband Bill Blair of Sadler, Texas; one grandson, Tim C. Thompson and wife Rhonda, five granddaughters; Kathy Argo, and husband Kenneth, Melissa Gill, Lisa Ann Compton and husband Byron, Lynn Blair Mcintire and husband Tom and Lara Gail Blair, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Metrocrest Funeral Home Sunday, March 12, 2000 at 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, 2400 N. Josey Ln. on Monday, March 13, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. Dr. Wayne Allen, Officiant. Interment will follow at Perry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
