OBITUARY
Pioneer Farmer Dies Suddenly Wednesday Night
R. A. Warner, 70, Passed In Sleep At Farm Home
R. A. Warner, 70 year-old pioneer farmer of the Carrollton community died
suddenly after retiring Wednesday night at his farm home about three miles
Northeast of here.
Mr. Warner had been in somewhat failing health for several months, but was able
to be up most of the time. He retired early Wednesday night, making the usual
noises of a sleeper. Suddenly, he was quiet and his breathing could not be
heard. When found by Mrs. Warner, he was unconscious, apparently suffering from
a paralytic stroke. He remained unconscious until his death only a few minutes
later. The death occurred about one o'clock Wednesday night.
R. A. Warner was born Feb. 20, 1871, on a farm near that on which he was living
at the time of his death. His parents were John and Mary Warner. He lived the
entirety of his life in the Carrollton community. He was a member of the Union
Baptist church and had belonged to lodges earlier in life.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Warner; one daughter, Mrs. Ross Brown of
Dallas; one son, Emery B. Warner of Chester Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Perry
and Mrs. Emma Hardcastle, both of Carrollton and two brothers,
G. F. Warner of
Wiley, Texas and Emmett E. Warner of Irving.
Funeral arrangements had not been made Thursday morning pending the arrival of
the son from Pennsylvania.

OBITUARY
Funeral Services Held Friday For R. A. Warner
Funeral services for R. A. Warner, pioneer resident, were held in the
local Union Baptist church last Friday afternoon at four o'clock with Rev.
Arthur Freeman, the pastor, in charge. H was assisted by Rev. N. E. Bryant of
Jacksonville, and Rev. Earl Anderson of Dallas.
Burial was in the Perry Cemetery.
Mr. Warner died at his home about 11 o'clock Wednesday night of last week from a
cerebral hemorrhage. He had not been ill at the time, though he had been in
failing health for some months.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mary Warner; two daughters, Mrs. Ross Brown of
Dallas; and Miss Loweeta Smith of Carrollton; one son, Emory B. Warner of
Chester, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hardcastle and Mrs. W. W. Perry, both of
Carrollton; and two brothers, G. F.
Warner of Wiley, Tex. and Emmett E. Warner
of Irving, Texas.
Among the relatives and friends attending the funeral of the late R. A. Warner
were Emory B. Warner of Chester, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Ross, Brown of Dallas, Mr.
and Mrs. Monroe Stringer and son of Washington, D. C., Miss Pope, Louis Jackson,
C. E. Jackson, Mrs. Wood Smith, Mrs. Maude Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. J. Murphy, Mr.
Brock and Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Irby of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Warner of
Irving, Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Warner of Wylie and Mr. and Mrs. D. M. James of
Lewisville.

OBITUARY
Man Succumbs At Farm Where He was Born
Robert Alexander Warner, Carrollton farmer and life-long resident of
Dallas County, died Thursday at the farm home near Carrollton where he was born
seventy years ago. Funeral services and burial will be 4 p.m. in Carrollton
Friday.
Mr. Warner was the son of Dallas County pioneers and at manhood took the land
his parents had developed and continued farming it. He had been active in
the civic affairs of Carrollton and was a leader in all activities of the town
pertaining to farming and farm development.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Warner; a son, Emory B. Warner of Chester,
Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Ross M. Brown, Dallas and Miss Soweta Smith,
Carrollton; two brothers, E. E. Warner, Irving and George F. Warner, Wylie, and
two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Perry and Mrs. Emma Hardcastle, both of Carrollton.
The Rev. Arthur Freeman will conduct the services Friday at the Union Baptist
Church in Carrollton and burial will be in the Perry Cemetery
in Carrollton.
