OBITUARY Burial Set Saturday For
Dallas Clubwoman
Death Removes Authority on Growing Iris
Mrs. Laura R. Caillet Succumbs at Home After Brief Illness
Mrs. Laura Reihn Caillet, 65, resident of Dallas since 1882 and
nationally-known authority on iris, died at her home, 4926 Lovers Lane, Friday
following a brief illness.
Mrs. Caillet was the wife of the late Fleury Paul Caillet, Dallas building
contractor, who died two years ago, a native of Gilman Ill. She had lived in the
same home on Lovers Lane the last forty-two years and was the mother of Dr. O.
R. Caillet.
She was a charter member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, the Dallas
Iris Society, National Iris Society and a member of the Camp Fire Girls board of
directors the last seven years.
Surviving are her son, four daughters, Mrs. Louise Dieterich,
Mrs. Shirley
Welch, Miss Margaret Caillet and Miss Marie Caillet, and seven grandchildren,
all of Dallas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sparkman-Brand
Chapel, Ross and Pearl, by Dr. Henry Wade DuBose. Burial will be in
Farmers Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be W. R. Cochran, John H. Henry, Shelby Gibson, Dr.
G. E. Brereton, Major E. A. Wood, Ben Johnson, Lewis Lefkowitz, Ernest Brown and
