WEDDING
ANNOUNCEMENT ENGAGED - Mr. and Mrs. Ted W. McCoy of Carrollton
have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Marcella McCoy, above, to
Thomas Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hill of Farmers Branch. The wedding will
take palace April 8 at the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, with the Rev. B. R.
Robertson officiating. Mrs. Philip R. Carver, sister of the bride-elect, and
Jimmie Hill, brother of the future bridegroom, will be honor attendants. Both
Miss McCoy and her fiancé are graduates of Carrollton High School. The

ANNOUNCEMENT
Marcella McCoy Luncheon Honoree
Miss Marcella McCoy, Carrollton, who will be married to Thomas Hill of
Carrollton April 8, was the honoree at a luncheon Saturday in the Century Room.
Hostesses to the eight guests were Miss Juanita Graham, Miss Betty Bedair and
Miss Frances Newton. Yellow and white chosen colors of the bride-elect, were
used in decorations.
A corsage of white carnations marked the place of the honoree.

WEDDING
Marcella McCoy Takes Vows With William Thomas Hill
On a wedding trip to Chicago and New York City before they make
their home in Carrollton are Mr. and Mrs.
William Thomas Hill, who were
married Easter Sunday at the Carrollton First Baptist Church.
The bride is the former Miss Marcella McCoy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ted W. McCoy of Carrollton. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
W. Hill of Farmers Branch.
The Rev. R. Boyd Robertson performed the ceremony. Given in marriage by
her father, the bride wore a natural-colored linen suit with toast
accessories and carried a white Bible topped with white orchids.
Mrs. Philip R. Carver of Carrollton and Jimmy Hill of Farmers Branch
attended the couple. Ushers were
Phillip R. Carver of Carrollton,
Gerald Gregg and George Kelly of Farmers Branch, Mrs. Marvin Loving and
Benny Jackson gave the wedding music.
A reception at the church followed the wedding ceremony. Mrs. J. W.
McCoy, Mrs. George Perkins, Miss Juanita Graham and
Mrs. Philip R. Carver were in
charge of the bride's table and guest book.
For her wedding trip, the bride chose a navy blue suit with matching
accessories. Her flowers were yellow Dutch irises. |

January 25, 1930 - November 30, 2020
Hill, Marcella McCoy
Marcella McCoy Hill the youngest daughter of one of Carrollton’s oldest
families returned to her beloved Thomas on November 30, 2020. In 1945,
she was Drum Major for the Carrollton High School Marching Band. She
married Thomas Hill of Farmers Branch, her high school sweetheart, in
1950 when he returned home from the US Navy. They lived for a time in
San Francisco and New Jersey, returning to Farmers Branch in 1972.
Marcella retired from IBM Corporation after 23 years, where she was
affectionately known to countless IBMer’s as “Mother”.
Proceeded in death by her parents Ted & Lucille McCoy; her beloved
husband, Tom Hill; and sister, Tedalu McCoy Carver. She is survived by
sons, Tom Hill, Jr. and Ted; daughter-in-law, Laura Hunter;
grandchildren, Whitney Hill & fiancé Alex Hunter, Tessa Hill, Jeremy
Bryan, and Brandi Turnbow; niece, Carrie Jacobson; and nephew, Phillip
Carver.

Marcella will be laid to rest on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 10:00 am at
Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, 1810 N. Perry Road, Carrollton, Texas 75006. |
