OBITUARY
Stanley, Life Time Resident Dies This Week
Funeral services for John Henry Stanley, who died on Sunday,
July 30, were held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Farmers Branch Baptist
church. Rev. G. B. Bailey officiated.
Mrs. Jewell Coonrod sang "The Pearly White City."
Pall bearers were: Charlie Colwell, Willie Colwell, Hardie Colwell,
Floyd May, Charlie Callaway and Balam Marcom.
Mr. Stanley spent five months in the hospital last winter but had
recuperated enough to spend a few months at home before this last illness. He
was sick for ten days before he passed away.
He was a farmer, dairyman and trader. He spent the greater part of
his life on a farm near Hackberry, was born in Farmers Branch on November 1879 [1876].
Three years ago he and Mrs. Stanley moved to a farm in Grapevine
and spend two years there, but his health failed and they had to move from the
farm.
Mr. Stanley was married to Miss Emma Field in December, 1901. They
had six children, three boys and three girls: Harris Stanley and W. Stanley of
Dallas, A. L. Stanley and
Mrs. Reesie Thompson of Farmers Branch;
Mrs.
Bill Daniel of Carrollton and Mrs. Grace Welch of Brownwood all of whom
survive.
He is also survived by three grandchildren,
Dana Sue,
Betty Lou
Stanley and Jimmy Daniel.
