OBITUARY COX
VERA VINCENT, a descendant of a pioneer Ellis County family and a resident of
farmers Branch since 1928, on Friday, October 3, 1997, in her 97th year.
Daughter of the late Felix Vincent and the late Clara Gribble Vincent; widow of
the late W. L. (Bill) Cox; mother of
Maurine Pollard,
Charline Shehane, the late
R. L (Bob) Cox and the late
M. F. (Nubbin) Cox; sister of Modena Cross, the late Ewell Vincent, the late Leonard Vincent and the
late Lester Vincent;
mother-in-law of Nita Cox, the late Rita Cox, the late
G. W. (Dub) Pollard and
the late Ray M. Shehane; sister-in-law of
Oscar Cheshire and C. M. (Dobe) Cox;
also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two
great-great grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her
Service of Celebration First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch Sunday afternoon 3
o'clock. Dr. Rick Davis, Rev. Paul Drewry and Rev. Sam Underwood will be the
officiates. Interment will follow in the Cox family plot at the
Keenan Cemetery. The casket
bearers will be her grandsons, Charles Cox, Robert Cox, David Pollard, Donny
Pollard, Tommy Pollard, Jerry Shehane, D.D.S., Jimmie Shehane and her nephew,
Duane Cross. Honorary bearers are her great-grandsons, Stephen Cox, Jeremy
Davis, Jonathan Davis, Jordan Davis, David Pollard David Shehane, Michael
Shehane and Nathan Shehane. Friends may visit with the family Saturday evening
6:00 until 8:30 at the church, where Mrs. Cox will lie in state until the
service. Floral deliveries will be accepted at the church after 2 o'clock
Saturday afternoon.
