OBITUARY Mrs. Mayes
Dies, Texas Resident For 43 Years Mrs. Louise Mayes, 76,
Carrollton resident for 43 years, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
D. B. Isom of 5115 Purdue in Dallas.
The former Louise Duwe of Germany, Mrs. Mayes moved to this country with her
parents while still an infant. They lived first in Sachse and later moved to
Round Grove Community near Lewisville. She married the late
Edgar Pleasant Mayes in 1902, and they
moved to Carrollton in 1918 where she was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Carrollton.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. T. C. Cluck of Mamaroneck, N.Y.,
Mrs. H. T. Wilcher of Plainview,
Mrs. John Cerniak of Garland,
Mrs. Don Isom of Dallas, Mrs. W. Morris Wallace of Dallas and Mrs. Roscoe
Stephens of Dallas; four sons, Jack H. Mayes of
Midlothian, C. E. (Count) Mayes of Dallas,
F. W. Mayes of Dallas and
E. D. Mayes of Dallas; three brothers, Fred
Duwe of Lewisville, Will Lunow of Lewisville, and Otto Duwe of Carrollton; one
sister, Mrs. Annie Uecker of Lewisville; 17 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Conrad Duwe, Bill Duwe, Herbert Lunow, Bill
Goldsmith, Frand Smith, Glenn Cunningham, Clifford Mayes and George Duwe.
